A person who makes a living by entertaining others is an entertainer. Tom is an excellent entertainer and knows how to keep people laughing.
Entertainment is important because it can help people feel good by stimulating the brain to release seratonin and dopamine. Entertainment often focuses on things the human brain was evolved to react deeply to, such as social backstabbing and murders. Entertainment can also help us to cope with difficult situations by distracting us from the pain and giving us a sense of accomplishment.
