Entertaiment is an activity that has been defined as understood objectively, communication between text and audience, encompasses external stimulus, o ofers pleasure, requires audience presence and passivity, and re quires consumer activity. It also has a dynamic quality that can be adapted to any scale, from an individual selecting a personal entertainment from a now vast array of pre-recorded media products to a banquet adapted for two or a stadium rock concert. The word entertaiment derives from the old French entretenir (“hold together”) or support, as in entertaining a guest.
