Storm Patterns
The sculpture, placed at a storm water retention pond in Monroe, WA, alludes to the hidden recharge rainwater system of Lake Tye, connecting viewers to the hidden ecology of their community. My research in Monroe's history revealed a photograph of "the leading ladies of Monroe" who were from the Snohomish tribe like many of the wives of of the first pioneers. of the Skykomish Valley. The artwork represents profiles of the women and a cumulonimbus cloud formed from converging cumulus clouds.
