Speed the Plow
Seven
archways, based in the theme of cycles, welcome pedestrians onto the
platforms, flank the depot, and mark the entrance. The artwork responds
to the community’s wish to honor the rich history of farming
in the region. The artist collaborated in the design of the total
station, including transitional spaces, the depot, and shelters.
Text on the
columns interprets the different geological layers of soil composition
of the region.
An archway
welcomes travelers at the entrance to the station along a Japanese rock
garden. The garden remembers the farming contributions of Japanese
Americans from the region.
