Shore Viewpoints
The installation reveals the hidden stories on the city’s central waterfront where six aluminum signs, presenting alternative histories of the waterfront, were juxtaposed next to historic bronze plaques. Callers were invited to engage in a dialogue by calling an electronic system and responding to stories of who lived here in the past - who lives here now and will live here in the future. The artwork documents a decade of change from a working waterfront to a tourist place.
