Under the Heron's Wing
The three-part glass installation enlivens the lobby, offering a warm welcome to visitors.
Painted glass panels floating on the façade of the building represent the work of firefighters and surrounding nature. Just as the fire fighters look after the safety of their communities, herons protect their young in the rookery nearby. The light-box installed at the reception is inspired by the city map used by firefighters on their daily calls. Mouth blown glass bugles displayed on a stainless steel shelf recall the beauty of forms of communication used by firefighters before advanced technology.
