Sculptures at Mauna Kea Bluffs, HI
A whale
sculpture, “diving” alongside the pool, mirrors
whales seen in the distance. A bubbling water feature in the pool
alludes to the presence of whales swimming underwater. Sculptures of
two common species found on Hawaiian beaches are featured;
a’ama crabs, Hawaiian symbols of persistence, scamper
along the poolside lava rocks and a turtle welcomes visitors
in the entry garden.
