Working inward towards the body, the artist’s act of undressing was a metaphor for removing cultural stereotypes in this transformation drama based in Victor Turner’s “ritual dramas”. Imagery revealed the multi-valent identities of the artist and Lena Dunstan, a Haida Indian woman. A video, displaying images of girls playing gumi, a middle-eastern jump rope game, mirrored the movements of the female performers.
