Concupisence
Whereas the artwork Gauging displays the ravages of the atomic bomb on Nagasaki, this piece alludes to the emergence of tender life after nuclear holocaust through a display of reproductive organs of invertebrate creatures. Concupiscence, a term for “lustful desire”, is a metaphor for the fundamental life force. Part of the exhibition, “Gloria Bornstein: Still Life” at the Seattle Art Museum.

Collection of Seattle Art Museum.
